2024 Student Art Exhibitions
The Batesville Area Arts Council’s Gallery on Main shared artwork created by local students in our Summer Art Camp recently. This exhibition, featuring the work by 4th – 11th grade students, wass on display July 30 - August 2, with a drop-in gallery reception on Friday, August 2 @ 5 – 6:30 p.m. During art camp, this group of students learned a variety of art techniques, including frottage, frescos, linear perspective, and printmaking with instructor Dustyn Bork and Lyon College summer intern, Rylee Smith.
Students in grades K – 3rd were featured in an exhibition August 6 – 9, with a drop-in reception on Friday, August 9 @ 5 – 6:30 p.m. This group of students learned about artists Henri Matisse, Louise Nevelson, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Yayoi Kusama, and Gustav Klimt. Participants created projects inspired by these artists using a variety of art techniques with instructor Dustyn Bork and volunteers Dalton Clark and Emilee Gerhardt.
Both events were free and open to the public. Thanks to the John Herman Hickman Foundation and First Community Bank for sponsoring the BAAC Summer Art Camp, and to Batesville Printing for donating all of our prints for this program!
