Mandy Mooneyham
The Chree Show
The Batesville Area Arts Council presented The Chree Show, an exhibition by Mandy Mooneyham, at the BAAC Gallery on Main (226 E Main St) June 6 – July 29, 2023.
Mandy's work delves into the complexities of the human mind and its relationship to memories and experiences. Through her visual representation, Mandy creates "Chrees", chair-rooted trees that symbolize the interdependence between our grounded existence and the boundless growth and transformation of our thoughts. By using trees to represent the human thought process and chairs to embody the framework upon which our memories are built, Mandy bridges the gap between the organic and the constructed, forming a unique portrait of human existence.
Mooneyham is an artist and graphic designer based out of Paragould AR. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in digital printmaking from Arkansas State University. Mandy's artwork invites viewers to embark on a journey of introspection and contemplation. Through the realm of Chree, she offers a deeper understanding of the connections between our thoughts, memories, and the tapestry of existence. Her hope is that her art will evoke a sense of wonder, ignite introspection, and illuminate the profound marvels within the captivating realm of Chree.
